The Full Story

SAFETY

The safety of our guests is our number one priority. As you prepare to go to your cabin experience, here are tips that we found from several reputable sites to help you increase your safety, and awareness when staying at a short term rental.

Digital Security System

Digital Locks

Depending on the cabin location, Black Bear Necessities ensures that there is a secured digital lock on each of its entry ways. Whether you're staying at Paw Paws Cabin in Pigeon Forge with 3 separate entries, or The Love Shack with one entry door, or The Mirrored Tent experience, we have a digital lock.

Inquire on how often the digital lock code is changed.

Some places may give out the same code to guests, or may not change the code that often. Black Bear Necessities takes pride in your privacy and security. We give our customers one unique code that is associated with their phone number, address, or a unique characteristic that only the guest would know by heart. We then delete that code when the guest leaves.

We also have the ability to provide remote access for any emergency maintenance, and we have set codes for our background checked and verified maintenance crew, who may need to come in between stays for maintenance. Our security system allows for a historic view of who has used the code and when they have entered the property. This solution with Schlage Encode Wifi locks married with Ring Cameras, has truly been a great combination for our properties. It is a great way to keep our guests SAFE!

Security Cameras

At Black Bear Necessities, your safety is our top priority. We take all necessary precautions to ensure a safe and comfortable stay for all of our guests. We use Ring Cameras at each of our facilities in order for our guests to get the best level of security. We are cautious to not put cameras in the way of any private areas that would otherwise impose on guests. We ensure the privacy of our guests while preserving their safety. We do not have any cameras inside the properties that we rent to guests. All cameras are on the exterior of the property.

Fire Extinguisher

Guests can rest assure that there is a fire extinguisher in each bedroom closet, sleeping areas, in the living room, and the kitchen

Smoke Detector

Our cabins have smoke alarms in the bedrooms and high traffic areas to detect smoke in the event of a fire.

Carbon Monoxide Detector

While a carbon monoxide detector can be sold separate from the smoke alarm, we have these combined into one device, and placed throughout the cabins for the protection of our guests.

Water safety is important. A person can drown in less than a foot of water. We have an alarm on our indoor heated pool.

EXIT

When you arrive, make sure you identify the various exits in the event of an emergency. It is important that everyone in your party is aware of the exits in the property as well. You should also ensure you have looked at the locks on the windows in the sleeping areas. All of which Black Bear Necessities ensures are secured ahead of checkin. However, guests should always look at the windows and exits upon check-in, for their safety.
